Even amid a heat wave, this skin tint gave me the ideal glow. |

If you weren't aware, Los Angeles recently experienced a severe heat wave, with temperatures rising above 100 degrees for around ten days straight. This usually means that I won't be wearing any makeup (just a heavy layer of SPF), but I had a date planned and wanted to appear at least somewhat put together. I recently acquired the $32 Make Beauty Diffusion Dew Radiant Skin Tint and made the decision to test it out. Under Carrie Barber's leadership, Make Beauty relaunched last year, and since then, it has consistently released cutting-edge items. The most recent is the Complexion collection, which also contains a powder brush, concealer, setting powder, and Diffusion Dew.See some reviews of this product here. The Diffusion Dew provides fairly sheer coverage but does an excellent job of giving the skin a subtle blur. It's kind of like a cross between a tinted moisturiser and a lightweight foundation (I call it the IRL Paris filter). What I enjoy about it is that it evenly absorbs into the skin without leaving wrinkles or appearing to be an additional layer of makeup. It has the right makeup vibe for me—so it's natural and understated. The only issue I have is that there are only 12 colours available, with more selections for the lighter shades. However, given of the lighter coverage, I found it to be rather forgiving. What distinguishes the Diffusion Dew from other skin tans available on the market? Well, it uses "skin mimetic" technology, which essentially means the pigments mimic your natural skin, just like many other products on the new Make roster. Rather of simply sitting on top of the skin, you can really see the formula fusing into it. Additionally, the Diffusion Dew has skin-care components that support the blurring effect, such as adenosine, which helps reduce the appearance of fine wrinkles, and niacinamide, which helps reduce the appearance of dark spots while clearing blocked pores and regulating excessive sebum production. You may use a foundation brush or simply your fingers to apply it; I prefer to use a moist makeup sponge. Personally, I enjoy wearing makeup-free looks, so for a daily appearance, I'd just leave it at that. For a slightly more dynamic appearance, I prefer to build on it with the Make Skin Mimicking bronzer and a touch of the Cheek Tint to keep things dewy.
The Diffusion Dew proved to have my back (or, I suppose, cheeks? ), since I was a little concerned before my date that I could look like a melted ice cream cone by the time we said our goodbyes. Throughout the afternoon and into the evening, it remained in place without moving, melting, or creasing. In addition, the bartender observed, "Wow, your skin is amazing," which made my date comment, "Yeah, you're shining!" In other words, I consider the Diffusion Dew to have won huge.
